Mission Statement
The mission of The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center of Westchester is to support lasting systemic change which begins on an individual level, with one teacher in a classroom and builds from there developing a commitment to sustained professional development.

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center of Westchester ensures leadership for a new direction to a broad base of educators as they initiate programs, teach workshops, facilitate meetings, make policy decisions, and determine the direction of the Center's scope and program. The Center provides access to programs for the continued improvement of professional skills which will help teachers build their capacity to provide high quality instruction centered on content and performance standards.

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center of Westchester has a proven record of success in advancing agendas for continuous improvement. The Center offers a program that is dynamic, responsive, and addresses the substantial demands placed on the knowledge, skill, confidence, and commitment of teachers.

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center of Westchester is a consortium of seven school districts: Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Greenburgh Central School District No. 7, Greenburgh Eleven, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, The Public Schools of The Tarrytowns, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Sacred Heart, Transfiguration, and Solomon Schechter schools in the Town of Greenburgh, Westchester County.
