PayPal is Back!!!

Beginning January 20, 2010 The Teacher Center Institute is again accepting credit card payment for courses and workshops through PayPal. PayPal was able to find a vehicle to integrate their system into our on-line (MLP) registration program.

New Program - Masters in Literacy Education (Grades 5-12)

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center, in collaboration with the College of New Rochelle and the Lower Hudson Teacher Center, will be offering a Masters Degree in Literacy Education for content area teachers in Grades 5-12. This two year program will begin this summer. To view course brochure please click here. An informational meeting will be held on Monday, April 19th at the Greeburgh Central #7 Board Room (in the Mansion). Please call our center for additional information.

New Cohort - Professional Diploma in School Building Leadership

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center, in collaboration with Manhattanville College, is once again offering (beginning in September) a Professional Diploma in School Building Leadership. This 30 credit program strives to prepare future educational leaders who will act as change agents as they address the challenges confronting us in the 21st Century. Manhattanville will be hosting an informational meeting at the Greenburgh 7 Board Room (in the Mansion) on Thursday, April 15th at 4:00PM. Please call or e-mail the center if you will be attending this meeting.

New Cohort - Teacher Leaders Certificate of Advanced Study

The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center, in collaboration with Manhattanville College, is once again offering (beginning in September) a Certificate of Advanced Study for Teacher Leaders. This 15 credit program helps to support teachers in formal and informal leadership roles. Manhattanville will be hosting an informational meeting at the White Plains Staff Development Center on Monday, April 26th at 4:15PM. Please call or e-mail the center if you will be attending this meeting.

New Course Registration Procedures

The Institute Registration System is now fully electronic and uses My Learning Plan. All course participants must now register for courses online through this system. Paper registration forms can no longer be accepted.

If your school district is a subscriber to MLP, you will find our courses integrated in your local professional development catalog.

If your school district is not a subscriber to MLP, you will be required to register as a MLP participant. Registration is free and only has to be done once.

Course participants will be able to view the status of their courses, print out course completion forms, and complete the course evaluations online.

Course instructors will be able to view and download their rosters, email their participants, download the sign-in sheets, and view completed evaluation forms through their MLP account.

THINKFINITY In-Service Courses - No FEE

We are offering 2 FREE Thinkfinity Courses in our Spring/Summer Brochure. These courses are opened to both members and non members. For additional information or to register, please view course offerings in our brochure or on MLP.

"10 Hour" In-Service Course - No FEE
Writing to Think/Writing to Learn

This FREE "10 hour" course is open to consortium members only in grades 5 - 12. To register log onto MLP. For additonal information, please click here.

NYS Teacher Center Online Academy
